Re: Doris M. Rich
Dear Mr. Moore,
At an appointment with Dr. Claude D. Arnaud, M.D., my mother's doctor at the UCSF Medical Center, which took place on Thursday, August 4, 1995, Dr. Arnaud provided a written prescription a new drug for my mother's Paget's disease. The name of this drug is Fosamax or Aleudrouate.
The doctor explained that this drug is not yet available in the United States, but is available in Mexico. Accordingly, I will have to go to Mexico to purchase this drug.
Dr. Arnaud explained that he is thoroughly familiar with this drug and that, in fact, he is on the FDA review committee which has reviewed the safety and effectiveness of this drug. He states that this drug is just about to be released in the United States, but that, unfortunately, it is likely to be released too late to help my 90-year-old mother with her Paget's Disease. Therefore, the doctor advised me to go to Mexico to purchase this drug.
Since I will be taking this trip to Mexico to purchase this drug solely for the benefit of my mother, I feel that you should release the funds from my mother's bank account to pay for the expenses of this trip. There is no doubt that my mother would give me the money for this trip, were it not for the fact that you have seized control of all of her bank accounts.
The cost of the medicine is $0.75 to $1 per pill. Dr. Arnaud prescribes one pill of 10 mgs. daily. Dr. Arnaud recommended that I purchase a six months to one year supply of pills. The number of Dr. Arnaud is (415) 476-5550.
Please send me the money right away, so that I can obtain this drug in time to help my mother with her life-threatening Paget's Disease.
Very Truly Yours,
Arden Rich
