John Holmes died of AIDS on 13 March 1988 in Los Angeles, California. His obituary was published in the New York Times and in other major news publications, the only male stud ever to be so honored.

Probably John Holmes did not have any children, because if he did his heirs would right now be claiming the royalty rights to his movies which amount to a considerable sum of money.

If he did not have any children, why not? Was he sterile? Did his female partners all use birth control? In many porn movies, the male ejaculates outside of the woman so that the viewers can see it. Did John Holmes always do it that way and for that reason never made any of his female partners pregnant?

He was diagnosed with AIDS in 1985. Did he continue to make porn movies until his death in 1988? What has happened to his female partners? When he died, one of his favorite female porn partners was at his side.
