Octavia Triplett JEWETT [Parents] was born on 29 Nov 1863 in Placerville, El Dorado, California. She died in 1934 in Mt.Vernon, Jefferson, Illinois. She was buried in Mt. Vernon,Illinois-Oakwood Cemetery. She married Sam CASEY on 15 Jun 1886 in Evansville, Indiana.
Shortly after Octavia was born in California, her parents and friends were attacked by Indians and in order to save her newborn's life Amelia Triplett Jewett fought off an Indian with a frying pan. Amelia was so traumatized by that experince that she returned home to Owensboro, Kentucky and left her baby with her parents. Octavia never rejoined the family again as the grandparents became to attached to her and refused to let her return with her mother.

Roberta "Birdie" JEWETT [Parents] was born in 1865 in Placerville, El Dorado, California. She died on 12 Dec 1890 in Carlin, Elko, Nevada. The cause of death was Diptheria. She married William T. NEELY on 18 Aug 1883 in Dorsey Ranch, Lamoille, Elko, Nevada.
Roberta attended school in the Lamoille area. Her short marriage ended in separation just prior to her death. Mrs. Neely, a daughter of Mrs. G. H. Brewer of Carlin, died at the place last Friday of diptheria. (Elko Free Press Vol XVIII #24 Sat 13,Dec 1890.)
