Ananias Conklin [Parents] was born in Nottinghamshire, England. He died in 1657. He married Susan.
June 25, 1638. Ananias had a grant of land and several grantssubsequently in Salem, Mass. by vote of town. He was a manufacturer ofglass. May 30, 1649, a grant of four acres, was voted him by the town.
Was admitted a Freeman with right to vote in Salem on May 18, 1642. Heremoved to East Hampton in 1650; and his brother, John, to Southold(Riverhead) where he died in 1694 at 64. It was probable that this Amiaswas the one who married Feb. 23, 1630 Mary Launder. Amias I moved to EastHampton in 1650. Probably he did not tarry long in Southold. We followfor the most part the N. Y. Gen'l and Biol Rec. , 27 152, which iscondensed in Hedges "East Hampton", pp 251-253. Ananas I died in 1657had: Jeremiah 2 b. in 1634, m. Mary Gardiner, dau of Lion G. died Mar 4,1712; Cornelius 2 no dates and Benjamin 2 m. Hannah Mulford, died in1709.

About 1640 James Farrat, agent of the Earl of Sterling sold to MatthewSunderland about 1000 acres of land at Hashamomeck. Sunderland diedwithout issue and left the property to his wife, Katherine, who marriedWilliam Salmon. Katherine died and Salmon married Sarah Horton. Salmondied and John Conkling Jr. married Sarah Horton Salmon and purchased fromthe Salmon children thier portion of the property. In 1661 he purchased500 acers at Occabank. In 1686 he bought 28 acres of Hohn Hallock in thevillage of Wading River.
