FACTS OF CASE: An infertility specialist was accused in a fraud indictment of fathering at least seven of his patient's children by artificially inseminating them with his own sperm.
Dr. Cecil B. Jacobson was accused in a 53-count indictment of fraud by telling woman that they would be inseminated with the sperm from donors who had not known the identity of the mothers.
The indictment returned by a Federal Grand Jury in Alexandria, Virginia, charged that Jacobson fathered numerous children including those of at least seven couples, according to U.S. attorney Richard Cullen.
Jacobson operated reproductive genetics Center in Tysons Corner, Virginia until 1989.
The 55 year old doctor is accused of falsely telling couples that he operated a donor program that selected sperm from carefully screened men, official's said.

Jacobson, Chief of the Reproductive Genetics Unit at George Washington University Hospital, has already voiced this desire; "I can't imagine any reasonably responsible person arguing against the abortion of mongols ... If we could tell what fetuses are going to be affected with cancer in their 40s and 50s, I would be for aborting them now."[12]

Born Jan 31, 1910 in Salt Lake City to Baltzar Hans (BH) and Sarah Rebecca Stay Jacobson, the second of nine children. He married Irene Elizabeth Coleman, affectionately known as Vardie, in the Salt Lake Temple June 6, 1934 and together they raised four sons and one daughter. After her death he married Rose Conder Lewis Oct 29, 1992.
He was employed 32 years by the Bureau of Reclamation and assisted in formulating the upper Colorado River Basin Compact and the planning of the Upper Colorado Storage Project. His expertise was also utilized by the countries of Morocco, Brazil, Philippines and the Mekong River Countries of Southeast Asia. In recognition of his Colorado River accomplishments and his foreign activities, he received the US Department of Interior Meritorious Award. He retired from federal service in 1965 to accept a position with the Upper Colorado Commission and later with BYU as professor of civil engineering. He was an active member of the LDS Church and served a full time mission with his wife Vardie.
He is survived by his wife Rose; four sons; one daughter, Vardie Anne; stepson, William; 33 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; brother, Joseph; and two sisters, Margaret, Catherine.
Services will be at the Suncrest Tenth Ward chapel, 90 N. 6th W, Orem, UT 12 noon Wed. Oct 16, 2002. Friends may call 6-8 p.m., Holladay-Cotton-wood Mortuary, 4670 S. Highland Dr, Holladay Tues.
