I have a Mary Stewart born Kirkcowan c1782 who married a John Neil on 13/07/1819. Twins Mary & Margaret born 15/04/1822 and Thomas born 1825.
I believe Mary's parents to be John Stewart (born Kirkcowan c1752) and Margaret McDowall (born Stoneykirk c1756) I have tied Mary into my Stewart line through information contained in the wills of her brothers, Charles and James, who both died in Ayrshire. According to these wills Mary's siblings would be the abovementioned Charles and James, William and Ougtree (also spelled Ochiltree) I believe this name in actually "Uthred", which was the Christian name of Margaret McDowall's father. There may also have been a Thomas who was deceased at the time of these wills being written.
