Thereafter, Lillemor Svensson sent me the estate inventory of Jonas Nilsson, who died in 1805, leaving three children including Maria aged 4 1/2. There is nothing conclusive about this. The questions are why is Maria listed in the estate inventory and not in the birth book and the larger question of whether this Maria born in 1800 is the same person as the Maria who is the mother of Anna Stina Bengtsdotter. Both were born in 1800 in the same place so it seems likely that this is the same person, but there is no proof.

Death certificate of Creighton Sloan says: "Name of Father Mr. Sloan, Name of Mother not known". Birthplace of mother is black.

I believe that the name of his father was probably not Mr. Sloan, but since the death certificate says that it was I am leaving it that way here.

This is just a guess as to the possible relationship between Mary Sloan, Mary Ann Sloan, Creighton Sloan and Esther Sloan. It is based on the passenger list of the ship Scranton which arrived in New York from Liverpool on May 29, 1852 and on the 1880 census. I believe that the name was probably Mary Ann Sloan, not just Mary Sloan. She probably died at an early age.
