Zhu Chen, my friend, is the new World Chess Champion

Zhu Chen was born on 16 March 1976 and is 25 years old. Below a picture I took of Zhu Chen in Las Vegas in March 2001. The player next to her is Grandmaster Mohammad Al-Modiakah of Qatar, who, it is rumored, subsequently become the boyfriend of Zhu Chen and now they are married. What a lucky pairing!! If only I had known that she was available!
Such a happy couple! Zhu Chen and Alexander Morozevic won the best performance rating for women and men at the 2000 World Chess Olympiad in Istanbul, Turkey. When I showed this picture to Zhu Chen, I said "This is your boyfriend" and she laughed.
