Ready to Get Serious

Sam

When I first wrote I was serious about supporting you in your bid to be the next president, but I was only half serious about being your running mate... in part because I didn't think myself worthy of consideration for such a lofty position, but maybe that's all the more reason to do it.
Order Monica's Story
If we are going to do it, lets do it right. My letter probably wasn't V.P. material, if we are going to take this to the limit, I may need to clean it up a little here and there. "Pakiramdan ko ang..." and the JN comfort girl thing would offend more than it would attract.

With the current environment and masterfully using the Internet (in ways I'm sure that you can teach me) I think we could perhaps get as many votes as the late George Wallace. I'm not saying I wouldn't play to win... in the very least we could get one hell of a book deal, so lets keep copies of everything and get a good agent, but we wouldn't want people to misunderstand and think that this is a book deal or a publicity stunt (just to get laid) (perks)

I have a lot of good issues, that if properly aired might just change the face of Washington and the hosed-up way we do business. By the way, if you want to use this on the www, feel free to edit out the things that the voters don't need to know.

1. Bring an end to Corporate Welfare. One example of this would be the farm subsidies paid to the large farming comglomerates such as Archer Daniels Midland and other less known corporations. (They receive approximately 80% of all farm subsidies) I would be for leaving the subsidies in place for the family owned farms. A committee (bi-partisan) would be needed to determine what exactly constitutes a "family owned farm" someone with 600 million dollars in exports... would not fit that bill. I'm aiming for the small farmers that are all but extinct. (Wish I had a dollar figure for this)

2. Strongly enforce the laws that are currently in place in regards to "Separation of church and State" Churches property should be taxed at the same rate as the homeowners in the communities that they serve. Remove the phrase "In god we trust" from all of our currency. There are numerous non-Christians that are unfairly being subject to this religious persecution. Do away with the bible in the courtrooms. Yes, I know that people are given the opportunity to swear or affirm, but refusing to swear automatically prejudices the jury... There are to many others to list here.

3. I want every member of Congress to make copies of their portfolios available for public review. This way we can determine why so many of them support a boondoggle such as SDI. They must hold a lot of stock in General Dynamics, Gruman, Loral, Northrop...

4. THIS ITEM DELETED DUE TO SENSITIVE NATURE< WILL BE TRANSMITTED FROM A SECURE SITE.

5. To assist the Russian economy by aiding tax collection, we could offer to send over 1/2 of the IRS to train in GTCT (Gestapo tax collection tactics) and encourage the Russians to shift from the Ruble to the US dollar.

6. THIS ITEM DELETED DUE TO SENSITIVE NATURE> WILL BE TRANSMITTED FROM A SECURE SITE.

7. Encourage other contenders to a national debate (Perot...)

8. Being against abortion, but to stand up for the women's right to choose. Abortion is not the solution, education is the solution.

9. Send half of Congress home, by reducing the number of Representatives in each state to half the current number and only one senator. This would maintain the intent of the large state/small state plans This should cut staffs nearly in half and would free up a lot of real estate, thereby lessening the cost of BIG government. A true win win situation for the American people.

10. War and civil unrest are a direct result of profiteering by the arms industry. Trade impoverished countries rice/grain for guns, have the UN enforce a complete ban on export of all weapons from any country to any country. Less people would be killed if they had to do it by hand, and at a greater risk to themselves. (This would also hurt the members of Congress that are heavily invested in the arms market) No exports period.

I have many other ideas in regards to trade, education, the purpose of the UN, how Japan can get out of the recession... Too many to even get started. I'll get items 4 & 6 to you soon. Press the flesh.

Sincerely, Glen
