I often find it useful to cite movies on my web site. For example, few people have ever been to Sri Lanka, but most have seen it in the movies without realizing it. I certainly did not know that the movie The Bridge on the River Kwai was filmed in Sri Lanka, and not in Thailand or Burma where the movie supposedly takes place, until after I had been there several times.
Therefore, when I want to tell readers what kind of place Sri Lanka is, I can explain it easiest by saying that Bridge on the River Kwai was filmed there.
