Svetozar Jovanovic: Scholastic Chess Coach, Trainer and Organizer
Svetozar Jovanovic is the head of the Dalton Chess Academy, the chess program at The Dalton School in New York City. Under his tutelage and coaching, Dalton has won 23 National championships, more than any other school in the country. He previously coached Hunter College High School, leading Hunter to two National championships in the mid-eighties, before founding the chess program at Dalton. In addition to his incredible success with team building, many of Jovanovic's students have gone on to become major individual players, including Josh Waitzkin, David Arnette, Nawrose Nur, Noah Siegel, Pamela Wasserstein and Katherine Pelletier.

Although Svetozar Jovanovic is a full time chess coach at the Dalton School in New York City, for the past two years he has been forced to devote himself to his son's legal defense.
