Re: April 23, 2002 Correspondence
Dear Mr. Sloan:
I am writing in response to your Email addressed to Marc T. Hardekopf, Assistant General Counsel, and dated April 23, 2002, wherein you inquired about the status of the appeal you filed with the Taxi and Limousine Commission ("TLC") on July 5, 2001. You had stated in prior communications with the Commission that you never received a decision regarding your appeal pertaining to hearing that was held on June 5, 2001 before Administrative Law Judge ("ALJ") Manzione. When you stated that you never received a decision from your appeal, it was assumed that your file was still open or that you never properly filed an appeal, as you were not able to produce any time-stamped copy of the appeal form you submitted.
A more detailed search was conducted for your appeal and was found in our "closed" files. TLC records indicate that you did file an appeal on July 5, 2001. Your appeal was decided by an Appellate ALJ on July 24, 2001 and mailed to the address on file with the Commission. Since you changed your address last year, you may not have received this decision. A copy of the decision of your appeal affirming the decision of ALJ Manzione is enclosed.
If you have any further questions, please contact the Legal Department at (212) 676-1135.
Peter Mazer
General Counsel
